Kelsey Fisher-Waits (she/her) is an award-winning teaching artist, director, actor, and dialect coach. She is also a proud Okie, and an even prouder Schnauzer mom.
Kelsey received her M.F.A. in Performance and Pedagogy from Texas Tech University and her B.F.A. in Theatre Performance-Acting from the University of Central Oklahoma. She has taught just about any kind of acting class you can think of at universities across Texas, Illinois, and Oklahoma. She currently serves on the acting faculty at her beloved alma mater, the University of Central Oklahoma. Roll them 'Chos!
As an artist, regardless of whatever particular hat she may be wearing, Kelsey is most inspired by works that exist just slightly left of normal. She loves the bold, strange, challenging, and funky. She is consistently attracted to projects that push her boundaries, favoring stories that uplift the female experience, highlight creative ensemble collaboration, and, if she's being honest, possess what she so affectionately refers to as 'Gremlin Energy.'
When she isn't in a classroom or a theatre, Kelsey can be found slinging tarot cards (she is a certified tarot reader through Tarot Readers Academy) and stalking the latest eye-shadow palette launches at her local Sephora.
